About This Project

The mill was a significant heritage industry associated with early historic Kentucky agriculture. My photographic introduction to mills was through an invitation by Keeneland Magazine to photograph for an article by Harriett Fowler.  I then continued photographing the spectrum of mills as I worked on my second book, Straight Bourbon: Distilling the Industry’s Heritage, which focused on the industries that support the Bourbon industry.
